Backyard Poisons

Did you know that there are plants and mulches that are poisonous? If ingested these things can affect a dog’s liver, kidneys and heart. They could even kill the dog.

Some of the plants include lilies, marajuana, and azaleas. Poisonous mulches include a popular mulch made with cocoa beans. Dogs are actually attracted to the mulch by the odor. It tastes kind of like chocolate and the dogs dig in, thinking they have found a real treat.

Unfortunately, the more they eat the more likely they will suffer internal damage or even death. Read about these poisons and how to protect your dog from dangers in your backyard in the article: Poisons in Your Yard that can Kill.
