Dog Health Problems
Taking your dog for an annual checkup can help your vet catch and possibly prevent diseases. Things such as cancer and diabetes can be detected before they cause serious harm to your pet.
The older a dog gets the more important these visits become. Even though it is an added expense and takes time out of your already-busy schedule, it can prevent the premature death of your companion and friend.
Another thing we all need to do is keep our dogs free from fleas. These pests not only make life miserable, but can carry diseases. They can also infest our homes and make life unpleasant for our family.
At the first sign of any scratching check for fleas. If you think fleas are present, ask your vet what he or she recommends and use that each time the fleas show themselves. Some people treat their dogs at the beginning of every flea season, while others wait until fleas appear. Either way, your dogs depend on you to protect them from these creatures that can make life so unbearable.
