Warning about Household Poisons
Each year more and more dogs are getting sick or even dying from ingesting poisons found inside or around the home. As winter approaches, two of these poisons become more available to dogs because areas place ice melts on the road and put anitfreeze in their car’s radiator.
When you take your dog for a walk in areas where ice melts are used, clean his or her paws when you get home. The ice melt substance can cause irritation to the dog and they lick it off, ingesting the ice melt and ending up sick.
When adding antifreeze to your car or flushing your radiator, be sure to properly dispose of any of the liquid and keep your dog out of the area where you are working. If any leaks onto the ground, be sure to pick it up so that nothing is left for your dog to lick up.
