Keeping Your Dog Healthy in Hot Weather

As temperatures rise the best thing for your dog is to keep him at home when you go out on errands. It is safer for your dog, and is actually a crime in many areas.

Did you know that even when it is overcast and in the low 80s temperatures can reach into the 100s even with the windows rolled down a little. One man found this out the hard way.

He left his Doberman in a parked car on an overcast day when the temperature was 82 degrees. Someone noticed the dog and called the SPCA.

When the SPCA agents arrived they discovered that it was 105 degrees inside the car. When the owner returned he was arrested. He could be fined a lot of money and could even face some jail time if convicted.

So do the best thing for your dog. Leave him or her home in air conditioned comfort while you drive around town. He might miss you while you are gone, but he will have a better chance of surviving the summer. And you will not be faced with a heavy fine or possible jail time.
